Data deletion

How to disconnect an Instagram page from MaziFy and have the data we hold about it deleted. You can stop MaziFy yourself in seconds; deleting the stored data takes one email.

1. Stop MaziFy in the control room

Sign in to the control room at app.mazify.io, then:

  1. Open Pages, find the page and choose Disable. MaziFy immediately stops preparing, publishing and reading anything for that page, and the page is set back to Shadow mode.
  2. Open the page's settings and Remove its Instagram access token. MaziFy can no longer reach the account at all.

Disabling a page is reversible and does not delete its data by itself, so you can change your mind. To have the data deleted, follow step 3.

2. Remove MaziFy's access in Instagram

You can also revoke MaziFy's access from Meta's side at any time, with or without the control room:

  • In the Instagram app: Settings → Apps and websites (under Website permissions or Security, depending on your app version) → Active → choose MaziFy → Remove.
  • If you connected through a Facebook Page: Facebook Settings → Business integrations → choose MaziFy → Remove.

Once access is removed, the stored token stops working and MaziFy cannot publish to or read from the account. It does not delete the data we already hold; for that, follow step 3.

3. Request deletion

Email hello@mazify.io with the subject Data deletion request and the Instagram handle of the page. Send it from the email address on your MaziFy account, or tell us how we can confirm the page is yours.

  • We confirm we have received your request within 7 days.
  • We delete the page's data within 30 days of your request and email you when it is done.
  • We keep the 30 most recent nightly backups (about 30 days), so the data then leaves them too.

4. What we delete

  • the page's Instagram access token (stored encrypted) and its Instagram user id and handle;
  • everything we prepared or published for the page: drafts, captions, images, carousels, stories, reels and their rendered files;
  • the page's insights, any moderated comments, and its sources, voice guide, brand kit, schedule and settings;
  • the page's entries in our logs and audit trail.

Posts that MaziFy already published stay on Instagram until you delete them there: they belong to your account, and we can no longer reach it once access is removed. We keep only what the law requires us to keep, such as invoices and plan records for tax purposes, and nothing else about the page.

5. Demo requests and other data

To delete a demo request you sent through this site, or any other personal data we hold about you, email hello@mazify.io from the address concerned. Demo requests are also deleted automatically 12 months after they are sent. Our privacy notice explains everything we process and your other rights.
